VALS#03 Columbia Glacier Sea Kayaking Tour The largest tidewater glacier in Prince William Sound and the second largest in the entire state of Alaska, Columbia Glacier is 25 miles from Valdez and covers more than 400 square miles. The face is more than 3 miles wide and is rapidly moving backward at a rate of 4 feet per day in the summer! Enjoy an hour boat ride to the glacier, then kayak amid towering icebergs, gliding through bays that are completely inaccessible by motorized boats, and observe sea otters and harbor seals hauled out on the ice floes. VALS#04 Shoup Glacier Sea Kayaking Tour The Shoup Glacier 8-hour tour offers an intimate experience at one of Alaska's beautiful tidewater glaciers. Climb aboard our motor boat for a taxi ride to Shoup Bay where we will begin this scenic kayak journey. Over the course of the day we will paddle past floating ice, past a nesting colony of Black-Legged Kittiwakes, and up to the face of the glacier. Enjoy a short walk on the beach and a lunch spot with a colorful glacier view (you bring your own lunch). At the end of the paddle we will be picked up by the motorboat for the ride back to Valdez. Lunch is taken at the face of Shoup Glacier, which calves on a regular basis. Transportation is provided to and from Shoup Bay entrance by chartered vessel. |

VALS#05 Valdez History Tour For those who have less time there is a short tour along the Valdez Port. On this tour, you will travel through a tidewater area rich in birds, sea otters and occasional seal and sea lions, and eagles. VALS#06 Salmon Fishing OR Halibut Fishing Charter Valdez halibut or salmon fishing is unique because of the tours that go along with the trip. Most fishing takes place 50-80 miles from Valdez, on the way you can expect to see whales, porpoise, sea lions, seals, bears, eagles, and many other species of birds. Cruise the majestic water of Prince William Sound from Valdez to Meares Glacier. In route our captains will travel the shorelines looking for the critters that call the Sound home. VALS#08 Tonsina River Rafting / 7 Hours One of the most popular rafting adventures in our area is on the Tonsina River. This river provides class III to IV whitewater, in a pristine wilderness setting. The river flows along the northern edge of the Chugach Mountains, through the low spruce forests of the Tonsina Valley. We often see eagles, ducks, moose, bear and several varieties of salmon that travel up the Tonsina. We travel thirty five river miles, in approximately six hours. WS#02 26 Glacier Cruise Travels over 140 miles into Prince William Sound where you will see 26 “named” glaciers and many more unnamed. We get very close to towering masses of ice so you can listen to the moves of the glaciers and see the brilliant blues in the ice. Glacier calving are normally seen on each cruise. The types of glaciers you will view are Alpine (hanging), Piedmont and Tidewater Glaciers. During your cruise, you may view sea otters, seals, porpoises and sea lions. WS#03 Blackstone Bay Sea Kayaking Tour Join us for a day of sea kayaking in the ice of Blackstone Bay. This is our most popular paddling destination. This is a perfect Prince Willliam Sound kayak tour for people with a limited amount of time. Our day will start with a charter boat ride from Whittier to a beach near the head of Blackstone Bay. We will paddle through the ice floe with harbor seals and numerous sea birds to keep us company. You and your guides will have the opportunity to safely paddle in the glaciated areas of Blackstone Bay while you explore it's natural beauty. The sights and sounds of the actively calving glaciers from the unique viewpoint of our ocean kayaks will indeed be the highlight of your trip! Along with safe and beautiful paddling, Blackstone has some short hikes to offer. JS#1 Juneau Icefield Helicopter Tour and Glacier Hike This tour 50-60 minutes flight time that enables passengers to view more of the immense Juneau Icefield when weather permits. This tour takes you deep into the Juneau Icefield and lands in one of our permitted areas. A large portion of the 1500 square mile Juneau Icefield may be observed enroute. Weather permitting an alternate route returning to the airport provides additional scenic possibilities. Our pilots provide custom flights. JS#2 Admiralty Island | Windfall Harbor Bear Viewing Fly by floatplane to Admiralty Island, home to the largest concentration of brown bear in the world. This is immersion in bear territory: There’s no lodge or development out here, which means you won’t be fighting crowds to see these magnificent creatures. Depending on when you go, you’ll see bears and their mating displays, foraging for clams, or fishing for salmon. You’ll land in a small ocean cove on Admiralty Island, within the Stan Price State Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected place for brown bears. A short quarter-mile hike along a rocky beach takes you to a small bluff overlooking a meadow where you can observe bears fishing in the creek or foraging along the shoreline. There is also the possibility of a one-mile hike through towering, 500-year old spruce forest to an observation tower, where you may see spawning salmon and bears. Your journey takes you on an exciting ride down the Mendenhall River, which flows from the glacier. Glide across the iceberg-studded lake, marvelling at the1.5-mile-wide glacier, and set course downstream. The five-mile route combines Class II and III whitewater. JS#9 Mendenhall Glacier Trekking Tour This trek is an Alaskan glacier adventure that includes four hours hiking and climbing over the rugged terrain of the Mendenhall glacier. Upon landing, the guide teaches the basics of glacier travel and then leads your group on an exploration of the most pristine and remote areas of the glacier. Opportunities for adventure photos abound as you are introduced to and practice basic climbing and rope techniques enabling you to safely climb and descend the ice walls. The amount of walking is extensive and often on steep terrain with some technical climbing. DS#1 Denali Park Tundra Wilderness Tour For visitors wanting to know about Denali National Park’s varied landscapes and wildlife, this 6-8 hour fully narrated tour takes visitors to the Toklat River at mile 54 of the Park Road. While we can’t predict nor promise when and where wildlife may show up, this tour travels deep into the heart of the park and will allow you ample opportunity to look for Dall sheep, moose, caribou and the elusive grizzly bear. On days when Mt. Denali is visible, it may be possible to travel to Stony Hill Overlook at mile 62 where the mountain first becomes fully visible from base to summit - an impressive view. A snack box and water is included. Two departures daily: the AM departure leaves between 5:30 am and 7:30 am to reach the afternoon train to Fairbanks. The PM departure is for clients arriving from Fairbanks and departs between 13:30 pm and 15:00 pm. The NPS Entrance Fee is included. |

DS#2 The Natural History Denali Park Tour The Denali Natural History Tour is an approximate 5-hour, fully narrated tour that travels to Primrose Ridge at Mile 17 within Denali National Park and Preserve. With a focus on the rich, cultural history of the park, this tour makes several stops with programs that depict the diverse native and early pioneer influences that make Denali special. Hear about the history and culture that surrounds you at a Living History presentation, while visiting Savage Cabin, and find out more about the local native culture and their stories at Primrose Ridge. DS#3 Backcountry Wildlife Tour to Kantishna | Wonder Lake The Denali Backcountry Adventure is a full day narrated exploration along the Denali Park Road to Denali Backcountry Lodge in Kantishna, returning to the Denali Park entrance in the evening. This trip into Denali National Park travels the entire length of the restricted 95-mile Denali Park Road to Kantishna in our private bus. Once the gateway to Denali National Park, this 135-mile gravel road is surrounded by pristine nature & is a photographer’s paradise. Snow-capped mountains, icy glaciers & panoramic vistas flank the Denali Highway! New, 4-door, 4x4 Jeeps hug the dirt road, while comfortably seating four adults who can trade off driving. Throughout the trip, you'll be able to ask the guide questions and share the experience with your fellow drivers. Each Jeep has a CB radio for communicating with the guide so stops can be made whenever desired. On a clear day you'll see Mt. Denali and a variety of wildlife. After learning how to safely manoeuvre the four-wheel-drive ATVs, which go up to 15 miles per hour, and donning safety gear, follow the guide onto the trail, which affords breathtaking imagery at every turn. The nearby mountains, dramatic tundra, jagged horizon and unique flora form the striking tableau that only exists in the Alaskan wilderness. Snap photos whenever you wish. SS#1 Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise ( 6 - 7.5 hrs) The 110-mile full-day cruise on a high-speed catamaran takes you into Kenai Fjords National Park, the Chiswell Islands National Wildlife Refuge and the magnificent Aialik Bay. Hosting this cruise is a uniformed National Park Ranger, who will provide narration to your journey and point out the many spectacular sights while fielding any questions you may have. Wildlife is abundant throughout the National Park, and the tidewater glaciers are massive. You'll visit the Aialik and Holgate Glaciers (7 hr tour) where guests often witness calving - a process by which the glacier sheds giant blocks and slabs of ancient ice - from a close distance.
