Katmai National Park Tours for Sightseeing & Wildlife Observation

Katmai Bear Viewing - Katmai National Park and Preserve are located on the northeast coast of the Alaska Peninsula. Among all his diversity, the Katmai National Park boasts the largest population (2,000+) of protected brown bears in the world, which makes it a great place for Katmai bear viewing. Katmai National Park bears are a sight to behold. During the peak of the world's largest sockeye salmon run each July, and during the return of the "spawned out" salmon in September - forty to sixty Katmai bears congregate in Brooks Camp along the Brooks River, Naknek Lake, and the Brooks Lake shorelines of the Katmai National Park and Preserve. While on our Katmai National Park tours, many visitors concentrate their activities along Brooks River, where brown Katmai bear congregate to feed on sockeye salmon as they pass upstream. Two platforms for viewing Katmai bears are located right above the falls at Katmai National Park.
