Katmai Wilderness Lodge sits amidst one of the most important archaeological sites in the North Pacific region. Relax in the comfort of a modern log cabin style lodge complete with private bedrooms, baths with hot showers and private deck. Gourmet style meals are served in the lodge’s rustic dining room. Daily guided activities include: excursions by boat to see brown bears, sea mammals and birds, fishing trips for Halibut and Salmon, wilderness hikes.
Only 200 people visit Kukak Bay per year. Accordingly - no crowds or bear viewing platforms with time restrictions are existent. Our guests can stay out all day with the guides to maximize their wilderness experience, photography and sports fishing opportunities. The brown bears congregate within the tidal flats -about 20 minutes away from the lodge from June until September. |
