Overview: Located within Kachemak Bay State Park and midway between Seldovia and Halibut Cove, only 10 miles by boat from Homer. The secluded Lodge is nestled at the foot of dramatic vertical peaks of Sadie fjord and hosts to a maximum of 8 guests only. Reminiscent of the bygone Viking era with details so often seen in the Norwegian countryside, construction of the lodge has been an ongoing labor of love by the owners. Overnight accommodation in private hand constructed cabins with running water, electricity, heat, fresh air-dried linens and blankets and full housekeeping services. Each building is unique, elegant, and comfortable with stunning views of Sadie Cove and far off to Mt. Augustine, one of Alaska's active volcanoes. A cozy, spacious lounge is available to guests for reading, gaming, visiting, or just relaxing and enjoying the sunset. Guests find a sauna and bath house next to a rushing creek. Wonderful gourmet meals are served in the dining room or on the outer deck. Whether it is salmon, halibut, live crab, or freshly dug clams, the chef will do it justice creatively and healthfully by only using the freshest of local ingredients, many of which are grown in the own garden.
Discover the many treasures of Kachemak Bay with its secluded bays, virgin forests and tide pools teeming with wildlife. Hike the trails of Kachemak Bay State Park, go beach combing, explore the fragile inter-tidal zones, clam dig for mussels, kayak or try your luck fishing from the shoreline for salmon or Dolly Varden. Wildlife viewing in Sadie Cove is a special mix of sea, land and air. Prolific with sea otters, seals, and sea lions, the shoreline is an ideal place to watch and listen as these creatures swim by. Sea birds are swimming in protected clutches and the local Bald Eagles grace us with their presence. In the ancient forest behind the lodge lives a small population of Moose and Bears. More easily seen are our resident Mountain Goats. Also available are guided activities including fly-out fishing, flightseeing, kayaking tours and transportation to the neighboring villages of Seldovia and Halibut Cove.
