Tokosha Mountain Lodge is the "ONLY" Lodge located inside Denali National Park on the south side of Mount McKinley. The south side is truly the wild side, with no roads, cars, trains or buses. Just unspoiled and spectacular wilderness, 12 river or trail miles from the nearest road. Nestled on the bank of the Tokositna River, the lodge offers a incredible view of Mt. McKinley, Pirate Lake and the Alaska Range... Foraker... Hunter... Moose's Tooth... unbelievable! The river on one side, the lake on the other. Large cottonwood, birch, and spruce provide the perfect habitat for bears (black and grizzly) wolves, moose, eagles, swans, and a host of other wildlife.
Guests stay in private cabins, while the main lodge is available with bathroom and shower facility, and a comfortable sitting room or gathering place. Three hearty, home cooked meals are served daily in the lodge dining room. Roasts and Stews, fresh Biscuits and Homemade Pies. The lodge itself and all our guest cabins have a wonderful view of Denali. We comfortably sleep 10, which allows us to offer a personal and authentic Alaskan experience. Enjoy the rustic backcountry atmosphere with abundant wildlife, take a canoe trip on Pirate Lake or watch for spectacular northern lights displays on the clear polar sky. Activities include: sled dog tours, hiking, rafting and flightseeing.
We meet you at 6:00 pm at our Boat Landing, 133 Mile Parks Highway for your personal voyage to our lodge. Cruise on the scenic Chulitna and Tokositna Rivers into Denali National Park in an enclosed, heated six passenger jet boat. The 45-minute trip offers spectacular views of the Alaska Range. Bears, moose, wolves, and eagles are some of the wildlife that is often seen along these undisturbed rivers. Wild flowers are colorful and abundant while in season. Arrive in the evening and maybe catch the alpenglow as the sun sets over Denali. Stay as many nights as you would like in a warm, comfortable cabin. Depart in the morning at 8:45 am for the scenic boat ride back to the Highway. |
