Overview: The lodge is located on beautiful Dezadeash Lake, bordering world-renowned Kluane National Park, only two-and-a-half hours by car from Whitehorse. This is a perfect base to explore the national park area on guided hiking, fishing and other exciting outdoor adventure trips. The main building’s location within breathtaking mountain scenery provides a lot of comfort and incredibly peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in its remote, northerly location.
4 Days Hiking Packages: One of the best ways to enjoy Kluane National Park, its mountains, wide valleys, lakes and glaciers is to explore it on a hiking trip. Whether you are planning a short walk through the countryside or an extended trek into the wilderness, you will discover excellent hiking alternatives for the novice or expert. An experience of a lifetime is the 3-day trip to Frederick Lake. We have a romantic cabin at this remote lake. The first day you hike along an old trap-line to the cabin. The second day you explore the area. There are a lot of mountains to climb, you can fish the beautiful lake for trout and grayling, you can watch Moose, Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Bald Eagles, go for a boat ride or just enjoy the wilderness. The third day you hike back to the lodge. Another exciting trip follows the Dezadeash River into the upper Alsek Valley. This is the only major river valley flowing from the Yukon to the Pacific. This is our favorite spot to watch Grizzly Bears and Dall Sheep.
4 Day Fishing Packages: Depending on the season, you’ll have the choice to fish for giant lake trout, northern pike, arctic grayling, salmon, whitefish and burbot in the area’s numerous lakes and rivers. Some of our other local area highlights are the crystal blue waters of the Kathleen River teeming with arctic grayling, rainbow trout, kokanee and lake trout. Frederick River which can only be reached by foot, horseback, plane or - in high water only - by jet boat, Mush & Bates lakes whose waters are fished virtually exclusively by us. Giant lake fish at Aishihik Lake and the wild Tatshenshini River for its Salmon. Or, in July, the lodge will transport you by jet boat to the best salmon pools on the Tatshenshini River, where you’ll be virtually guaranteed multiple catches, whether you’re fishing with flies or bait.
