| Denali Hiking |
| Hiking within the Denali area is a fantastic opportunities to observe the arctic environment and it's inhabitants. Seven glaciers pour off the southern flanks of the Mt. McKinley Massif creating an immense wilderness carved by glacial rivers and crystal clear streams providing excellent habitat for Grizzly Bears, Dall Sheep, Caribou, Wolves, Moose, more than 50 species of birds and a host of other wild animals. Wildflowers bloom throughout the summer, adding tender beauty to the tundra. The sheer majesty of this vast mountainous expanse can only be deeply appreciated with a visit into the realm of Denali. |

Three Day Trips:
Each trip begins with a brief orientation in Talkeetna where we pack our gear and answer last questions. Then we fly out to one of our destination lakes sitting high in the mountains, well above timberline and set up base camp with tents and cooking shelter. This camp provides a home base for our day hiking and exploration of the immediate country. Your guide will lead you off to a nearby glassing point where you will survey the surrounding countryside in search for in search for Bears, Wolves, Caribou and other species that inhabit the alpine zones. You'll witness the long and splendid sunset before heading back to a warm meal and excited discussions of the days discoveries. The following mornings, after a hearty breakfast, you'll take off from camp selecting a different direction to explore each day. Everyone will carry a daypack with camera, water bottle, snacks and extra clothing inside. The alpine habitat is chalk full of wonderful surprises including over 30 specie of beautiful wildflowers, nesting migratory birds, indigenous mammals and some of the most spectacular scenery in North America. There is no pressure or agenda other than that set by you. If you want to scramble up a mountain ridge for a better view of Denali or you want to photograph wildlife or wildflowers, your guide will accommodate you in every way. It is our highest priority that you return to Talkeetna fully refreshed and rejuvenated and feeling magnificent about your sojourn in the mountains. |

Five Day Trips:
A wonderful treat for people which are interested in a longer stay and a little more in-depth adventure in the high alpine areas of the Talkeetna Mountains. There are two possible ways to spend your time in the mountains. The first is to set off cross-country from your drop off point and spend the following five days exploring new terrain and country with each step you take toward your destination lake. The second way is to land at your destination lake and spend the next five days exploring the surrounding terrain each day traveling light. Weight is not a concern if you are "day hiking" from your drop-off lake and conversely, very important if you are to carry your "house" on a cross-country trek. Whichever method you choose for the hiking adventure, you will be astonished with the utterly wild and remarkable country you’re immersed in. |
